More trans women are killed in Brazil than anywhere else in the world. Their life expectancy is only 35 years old. In Brazil, trans people are socially invisible, which causes a lack of social studies and data to map this segment across the country in order to promote human rights policies in the fight against violence, and to create State Public Policies. However, there is a new generation of Brazilian trans people fighting for rights, visibility, and dignity.
A photo essay by Camila Falção brings together 50 Brazilian transgender women who are part of this new generation. They show that feminity can be expressed in many forms and that there is an enormous diversity between them: bodies that have been transitioning for some time, bodies that are not going to change, bodies with different physical aspects that show that there are many possible variations to the female body.
