Not that anyone in particular asked, but here’s my favorite bit of Car Seat Headrest trivia.
The song “Times to Die” from Teens of Style (Car Seat Headrest’s first album under a record label) is actually a re-working of the song of the same name off of their earlier album Monomania. The Teens of Style version has a couple of noticeable things changed in it – for one, it has two or three extra stanzas, I think. However, my favorite change is that in the original, there’s a part that goes like this:
And then they took him to their temple, (NO UNSOLICITED DEMOS!) And then they fed him to their devils, And then they took him to their temple, (NO UNSOLICITED DEMOS!) And then they fed him to their devils
But, in the Teens of Style version, it goes like this:
And then they took him to their temple, (HEY MAN, WE LISTENED TO YOUR DEMOS!) And then they fed him to their devils, And then they took him to their temple, (HEY MAN, WE LISTENED TO YOUR DEMOS!) And then they fed him to their devils,
I know CSH isn’t typically known for “heartwarming” songs, but that bit of trivia always cheers me up.
hey listen to these two tracks that were conveniently combined into one by this soundcloud user for your listening pleasure before you listen to the new twin fantasy
This started as a joke about making Sonic characters, about how they should’ve gotten more abstract and strange. Here’s a thought named Perish that wears shoes and gloves.
